IFFAsia Alumni Gathering for a Synodal Journey 2025

The Wake-Up International Youth Center, in partnership with IFFAsia (Institute of Formation Fondacio Asia), hosted the IFFAsia Alumni Program for a Synodal Journey 2025 from November 10-13, 2025, with the blessing and pastoral support of Most Rev. Kim Jong-soo Augustinues, Bishop of the Diocese of Daejeon. Guided by the theme “Walking Together: Echoes of Our Journey,” the gathering served as a meaningful reunion and moment of reflection for IFFAsia alumni from across Asia.

Wake-up 국제청소년센터에서는 아시아청년 문화교류 컨퍼런스(IFFAsia Alumni for a Synodal Journey)를 진행하였습니다. “Walking Together: Echoes of Our Journey”라는 주제로 진행된 이 프로그램은 아시아 각국의 청년들이 한자리에 모여 각 나라의 현실을 공유하고 향후 협력 방향을 모색하는 교류의 장으로 마련되었습니다.

The program brought together 31 alumni from 14 batches (2006-2024), representing 10 Asian Countries – Cambodia, East Timor, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam. This diverse participation highlighted the intercultural and missionary character of IFFAsia and the enduring bonds formed through its formation program.

프로그램은 아시아 10개국에서 온 31명의 참가자가 참석하였으며, 서로 다른 배경과 경험을 바탕으로 활발한 교류가 이루어졌습니다. 이는 IFFAsia 단체의 국제적 네트워크를 통해 형성된 지속적인 유대와 협력의 가치를 다시 한 번 확인하는 계기가 되었습니다.

The program provided space for communal prayer, guided reflections and spiritual conversations. Alumni reflected on how their IFFAsia formation continues to shape their ministries and leadership, while sharing pastoral experiences and signs of hope from their respective contexts.

프로그램은 참여자들이 함께 성찰하고 의견을 나눌 수 있는 시간들로 구성되었습니다. 참가자들은 IFFAsia 과정 이후 본인들의 활동 경험과 리더십의 변화, 그리고 각 지역에서 경험한 의미 있는 성과와 가능성에 대해 의견을 교환했습니다.

The gathering was enriched by the contributions of Most Rev. Joel Z. Baylon, D.D., former IFFAsia Bishop Chair and Ms. Anna Teresa Peter Amandus (Batch 5, SY 2010), whose reflections offered guidance and encouragement for living a synodal way of being Church today. Participants also visited significant sites of Korea’s Catholic Heritage, including Haemi Castle and Haemi International Shrine, deepening their shared reflection through encounters with the history of faith and witness.

이번 모임에는 전 IFFAsia 담당 주교이자 현재 필리핀 레가스피 교구장이신 Joel Z. Baylon 주교님이 함께 하여 공동체적 삶과 리더십에 대한 경험과 조언을 공유해주셨습니다. 참가자들은 또한 해미읍성과 해미국제성지 등 역사적 의미를 지닌 장소를 방문하며, 해미 지역의 문화, 역사적 맥락 속에서 공동의 성찰과 교류를 이어갔습니다.

For the Wake-Up International Youth Center, hosting the program was both a privilege and a reaffirmation of its mission to serve as a space for formation, encounter, and international exchange. As participants returned to their respective ministries, the gathering reaffirmed the call to continue walking together as a synodal Church in service to the people of Asia.

Wake-up 국제청소년센터는 본 프로그램을 통해 청소년 성장 지원과 국제적 교류의 장으로서의 기능을 다시 한번 확인할 수 있었습니다. 참가자들은 프로그램 이후 각자의 활동 영역으로 돌아가며, 아시아 지역 사회를 위한 지속적인 협력과 연대의 필요성에 공감하게 되었습니다.
