WE CONNECT: Pilgrims of Hope (Day 2)

Pilgrims Explore the Legacy of Korean Martyrs Through Historic Pilgrimage



Haemi, South Korea, November 2, 2025 — On the second day of WE Connect: Pilgrims of Hope, young delegates embarked on a meaningful pilgrimage through sites honoring the Korean Catholic martyrs, deepening their understanding of faith, courage, and sacrifice.

2025 11 2, 해미 참가자들은 해미 지역의 역사와 함께 연관된 한국 천주교 순교자들의 이야기를 듣는 시간을 가졌습니다.






Participants visited significant destinations including the Sanghongri Chapel, Haemi Castle, and the Haemi International Shrine, where they celebrated Mass together. At each site, the delegates learned about the inspiring stories of early Korean Catholics whose steadfast commitment to faith continues to influence and encourage believers today.

해미 인근에 위치한 상홍리 공소, 해미읍성, 해미 국제성지 등을 방문하며, 해미지역의 무명 순교자 이야기를 깊게 공부하는 시간을 가졌습니다. 해미 국제성지에서는 함께 미사를 봉헌하며 순교자 정신을 되새기는 시간을 가졌습니다.








Throughout the day, the pilgrims engaged in reflection, conversation, and shared experiences, allowing them to connect their own journey of faith with the sacrifices of the martyrs. The day’s activities strengthened their appreciation of the Church’s legacy, illustrating how faith is lived across generations and cultures.

하루 동안 참가자들은 해미의 무명 순교자 이야기를 통해 자신의 삶을 돌아보는 시간을 갖기도 하였습니다.







By the end of the day, the pilgrims participated in a Jesu Maria Song and Korean Martyrs Prayer, a solemn moment that invited them to reflect on the courage of the martyrs, their own vocation, and the unity of Asian youth walking together in hope.

마지막으로 해미지역이 여숫골이라고 불리게 된 배경과 역사를 배우고 예수 마리아' 노래와 함께 해미 무명순교자 체험을 하면서 하루를 마무리하였습니다.




WE CONNECT: Pilgrimage of Hope (Day 3)

Young Pilgrims Reflect on Vocation at Solmoe and Mirinae Shrines


 

Haemi, South Korea, November 3, 2025 — On the third day of WE Connect: Pilgrims of Hope, participants explored the theme of vocation, reflecting on their personal calling through the life of St. Andrew Kim Daegeon, Korea’s first Catholic priest.

2025 11 3해미 — ‘소명을 주제로 한 셋째 날 일정은 한국 최초의 사제인 성 김대건 안드레아 신부의 삶을 통해 본인의 삶의 목적에 대해 생각해보는 시간을 가졌습니다.







 

The morning began with a session on vocation, where delegates learned about discerning their calling and the importance of responding to God’s invitation in their lives. This session provided guidance and inspiration for participants as they considered how their faith shapes their purpose and mission.

오전에는 다양한 소명에 대한 이야기와 본인의 소명과 삶의 목적을 어떻게 찾아갈 수 있는지에 대한 강의를 듣는 시간이었습니다.





Following the session, pilgrims visited Solmoe Shrine, the birthplace of St. Andrew Kim. Walking the grounds and engaging with exhibits, participants reflected on the saint’s dedication, courage, and perseverance in living out his faith.

강의가 끝나고 참가자들은 6 아시아 청년대회 당시 프란치스코 교황님이 방문하셨던 솔뫼성지에서 시간을 보냈습니다.








In the afternoon, the journey continued to Mirinae Shrine, where St. Andrew Kim is buried. Standing before his tomb, participants offered silent prayers, seeking guidance and strength to embrace their own vocation.

오후에는 김대건신부님의 묘가 있는 미리내 성지를 방문하여 각자 침묵 속에서 각자 삶의 목적을 찾기 위해 묵상을 하는 시간을 가졌습니다.






The day concluded with an evening prayer on purpose, inviting each pilgrim to contemplate their personal call to serve, inspired by the witness and legacy of St. Andrew Kim Daegeon.

저녁에는 하룻동안 묵상했던 각자의 삶의 목적에 대해서 나누고 다짐하는 시간을 가졌습니다.
