WE Connect: Pilgrims of Hope (Day 1)
Haemi, South Korea, November 1, 2025 — The WE Connect: Pilgrims of Hope officially commenced with the arrival of 76 young pilgrims from 11 countries and regions: Bangladesh, Cambodia, East Timor, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam. Participants gathered at the Wake-Up International Youth Center for the orientation and welcome program, marking the beginning of a week-long journey of encounter, faith, and cultural exchange.
2025년 11월 1일, 대한민국 해미 — 아시아 11개국(방글라데시, 캄보디아, 동티모르, 홍콩, 인도네시아, 라오스, 말레이시아, 필리핀, 한국, 태국, 베트남)에서 모인 76명의 청년 들이 웨이크업 국제청소년센터에 도착하며 WE Connect 프로그램의 일정이 공식적으로 시작되었습니다.
The program formally opened with a Mass presided over by Most Rev. Emmanuel Rosario, Head of the FABC Office of Laity and Family. Delegates came dressed in their traditional attire, beautifully showcasing the rich cultural diversity of the Asian Church.
오리엔테이션과 환영 프로그램으로 첫날 일정을 시작한 뒤, FABC 평신도·가정위원회 위원장인 엠마누엘 로사리오 주교님이 주례하신 개막미사가 봉헌되었습니다. 참가자들은 각 나라의 전통 의상을 입었고 이를 통해 각 문화의 다양성과 아름다움을 볼 수 있었습니다.
Following the Opening Mass, participants engaged in country and regional introductions, fellowship activities, and a guided tour of the Wake-Up International Youth Center. The tour included an immersive Virtual Reality pilgrimage experience and a visit to the Pope Francis Museum, offering a deeper appreciation of the Center’s mission and history.
미사 후에는 참가국 소개, 친교 활동, 센터 투어가 이어졌습니다. 특히, VR 체험과 프란치스코 교황방문기념관 관람을 통해 센터의 시설과 설립 배경 등을 이해하는 시간을 가졌습니다.
The first day
concluded with a simple yet meaningful prayer, setting a reflective tone for
the days ahead as the young pilgrims embark on their shared journey of hope.
마지막으로 첫날 일정을 마무리하며, 참가자들이 프로그램 참가 배경과 앞으로의 다짐을 하는 시간을 보냈습니다.
