In celebration of the Jubilee of Hope, the Marriage Encounter Group (ME) from the Philippines embarked on a sacred pilgrimage to South Korea, embracing the theme “Pilgrims of Hope.” The journey was rooted in prayer, reflection, and share community life, offering participants a meaningful opportunity to renew their faith and deepen their commitment to one another.

희망의 희년을 맞아 필리핀 ME 그룹은 '희망의 순례자들'이라는 주제로 외국인 지역특화 프로그램을 진행하였습니다. 이 프로그램은 묵상과 나눔, 공동체 활동을 중심으로 구성되었으며, 참가자들의 그들의 삶을 돌아보고 상호 이해를 넓히는 계기가 되었습니다.

The pilgrimage brought the group to significant Jubilee and historical Catholic sites closely connected to the witness of the Korean Unknown Martyrs, including Sanghori Chapel, Tomb Mountain, Haemi Castle, and the Haemi International Shrine. In these sacred places, moments of silence, and the celebration of the Holy Mass invited deeper reflection on faith, courage, and fidelity amid trials.

이번 일정은 상홍리 공소, 수원백씨선산, 해미읍성, 해미국제성지 등을 방문하여 한국 무명순교자들의 삶을 돌아보는 프로그램으로 구성되었습니다. 각 장소에서 참가자들은 무명 순교자들이 박해와 어려움 속에서 신앙을 지켜온 신념과 용기 등을 깊이 생각해볼 수 있는 계기였습니다.

Tracing the life and mission of St. Andrew Kim Daegeon, the first Korean priest, the pilgrims visited Solmoe Shrine and Sinri Shrine, drawing inspiration from his steadfast faith and missionary spirit.

또한 한국 최초의 사제인 김대건 안드레아 신부님의 생애를 돌아보기 위해 솔뫼성지와 신리성지를 방문하기도 하였습니다.

The journey was also enriched through an interreligious encounter at a Buddhist temple in Ganwolam. This visit fostered respect and a deeper appreciation of Korea’s diverse spiritual heritage.

More than a visit to sacred places, the Jubilee Journey became a shared path of renewal. Walking together as a community, the participants strengthened their relationships and reaffirmed their call to live as a true “Pilgrims of Hope”, carrying renewed faith, love, and hope back to their families, communities, and the wider Church.

이번 일정 동안 간월암을 방문하기도 하였습니다. 이를 통해 서산 지역의 불교 역사와 문화유산을 알아볼 수 있는 기회가 되었고 다양한 종교와 전통, 문화에 대한 이해를 넓히는 시간이었습니다.

이번 프로그램은 단순한 장소 방문을 넘어 지역의 역사와 문화를 참가자들에게 공유할 수 있는 시간이었고, 참가자들은 함께 걷고 소통하며 관계를 회복하고 공동체 의식을 강화하는 과정이었습니다. 이를 통해 참가자들은 각자의 삶의 자리에서 희망과 연대를 실천하겠다는 의지를 다지는 계기를 마련했습니다.
